Academic and Administrative Councils


Composition

There shall be an Academic Council to be composed of the College President as Chairman and all members of the instructional staff with the rank of not lower than Assistant Professor as members, and the Academic Directors and Institute Deans of the College.

Powers and Duties

The Academic Council so formed and constituted shall have the following powers:

  1. Determine, review and recommend for approval to the Board the course offerings of the College;
  2. Devise, review and recommend for approval to the Board the rules of academic discipline;
  3. Fix the requirements for admission of students and for graduation, subject for review and/or approval by the Board;
  4. Recommend students for graduation and/or others to be recipients of degrees, subject for review and/or approval by the Board; and
  5. Exercise disciplinary power over students through the President of the College or a duly authorized committee within the limits prescribed by the approved rules of discipline.

The Officers

  1. The College President shall be the Chairman and Presiding Officer of the Academic Council. In his/her absence, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs shall preside who is the Vice Chairman.
  2. The College Secretary shall be the Secretary of the Council. It shall be his/her duty to keep the records of the Academic Council, to issue notices and agenda of meetings, to keep the minutes of the proceedings and to furnish a copy of the minutes to each member.

Meetings

  1. The Academic Council shall meet quarterly. Provided however, That the College President may call for a special meeting/s as the need arises.
  2. Every member of the Academic Council is required to be present in all of its meetings. Any member may be excused from attendance for satisfactory reason/s, as determined by the College President.

There shall be an Administrative Council to be composed of the College President as Chairman, the Vice-President for Administrative Affairs as Vice-Chairman, the Chief Administrative Officer, the Directors and the Teaching and Non-Teaching Administrative Unit Heads as members.

Powers and Duties

The Administrative Council so formed and constituted shall have the following duties and functions:

Review and recommend for approval to the Board policies governing the administration, management and development planning of the College.

The Officers

  1. The College President shall be the Chairman and Presiding Officer of the Administrative Council. In his/her absence, the Vice-President for Administration shall preside who is the Vice Chairman.
  2. The College Secretary shall be the Secretary of the Council. It shall be his/her duty to keep the records of the Council; issue notices and agenda of meetings; keep the minutes of the proceedings and furnish a copy of the minutes to each member; assist the President in the dissemination of policies, resolutions and guidelines; and perform such other duties, as may be assigned by the College President.

Meetings

  1. The Administrative Council shall meet quarterly. Provided however, That the College President may call for special meeting/s as the need arises or upon request of the majority Council Members.
  2. Every member of the Administrative Council are required to be present to attend in all of its meetings. Any member may be excused from attendance for satisfactory reason/s, as determined by the College President.
