Camiguin Polytechnic State College celebrated its 18th year of existence last February 22-24, 2013. With the theme “CPSC: Shared Vision and Dedication”, the said event, spearheaded by the College President, Dr. Venus I. Lammawin, was truly a success.
On February 22, 2013, the first day of celebration, the whole day was spent in the setting-up of booths of the different institutes of the College that were showcased throughout the duration of the 3-day affair. Various local enterprises were also invited to set up their booths and stalls to advertise their products.
During the evening, the much-anticipated “Search for Miss CPSC” was held at the Outdoor Stage. The College’s Multi-Purpose Ground was filled with numerous students, faculty, staff, guests and sponsors who were very thrilled to witness the pageant. Nine candidates who represented the institutes of the college vied for the coveted title. Miss Eunice Baliong, a Fourth Year High School student emerged victorious among the rest of the contenders and was crowned as Miss CPSC 2013. The pageant’s First Runner-up was Miss Kathleen Cainglet, and Miss Dosdos was awarded Second Runner-up. Both of them were from the Institute of Nursing.
The air of the morning of the 23rd day of February was filled with festivity as CPSC’s undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff danced the streets of Mambajao, showcasing the different festivals in the country. Colourful costumes were worn and lively music were played. Folks were awed to see eight varied festivals in just one street dancing affair. The Kaamulan, Hermosa, Pintados, Maskara, Kadayawan, Kalilang, Bwahanan, and Sinulog-Based Festivals were featured by the College. Right after the jovial Street Dancing, the Foundation Day Program was conducted. This was attended by the Provincial Governor, Hon. Jurdin Jessus M. Romualdo, who gave inspirational Message; and Hon. Rodin Romualdo who, in behalf of Cong. Pedro P. Romualdo, delivered the Foundation Day Address. Plaque of Recognition was given to both of the distinguished guests. Awarding of Loyalty Pins and Certificates were given as well to CPSC employees. After the Foundation Day Program, Kumbira sa CPSC was held wherein the administration, faculty and staff, students and guests partook lunch together at the Multi-Purpose Ground.
The CPSC Employees’ Night was also carried out during the said date at the Mambajao Convention Center. Various dance numbers and Fashion Show were presented by the faculty and staff of the College.
On the same evening, a Night Café was simultaneously enjoyed by the students where beverages and food were sold. This event was highlighted by the presence of a live-band from Davao City, the Daybreak band.
The Alumni Homecoming was conducted on February 24, 2013, the last day of the celebration. A thanks Giving Mass was held and a General Meeting took place. A disco concluded the celebration.With the cooperation and support of all the people, CPSC’s 18th Foundation Days Celebration ended successfully.
