IN PREPARATION for the 2015-2016 school opening, CPSC employees gathered for some updates and OBE Orientation, June 1, 2015 at the CPSC Mini gym.
Dr. Corazon G. Alava, College President, announced the updates of the implementation of the NBC Cycle 6 & 7, the Productivity Enhancement Incentive as well as the Performance Based- Bonus updates to the employees. She also posted some challenges the college will face this school year like accreditation, and alignment of researches and extension programs to the research agenda of the government. Dr. Alava also reminded the employees on their commitment to work, to give their best to the clientele, classroom decorum and in making use of office hours efficiently. She ended her talk with this quote, “ We expect to be measured by what we do, as well as on what we say”.
Ms. Maya N. Realista, RGC, Guidance Counselor Designate re-oriented the employees with RA 6713 Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. Dr. Victoria C. Ritardo, HRMO Designate, also reminded the employees of government office hours and appreciation of leave credit. She also gave examples in the computation of leave credits.
The rest of the meeting were updates and re-echo from seminars attended by some employees of the college. Ms. Maya N. Realista, Guidance Counselor talked about Evidence-Based Counseling, Ms. Juvy M. Agbayani shared about local history, Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) – Baguio
Experience by Ms. Crisusa F. Abregana, Dean – Institute of Nursing, Extension Insights by Ms. Gerlie D. Cutab, Faculty and Dr. Eustracio Genelsa, Dean of the Institute of Technology shared on RA 10650 Open Distance Learning Act in the Philippines, University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU).
Dr. Alexander Morados, Research Coordinator shared about Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Syllabi preparation. He cited examples on how to identify outcomes for the subjects and distributed sample copies of an OBE Syllabus. The said format will be followed in the making of the syllabi effective this school year 2015 – 2016.
Dr. Aida S. Ong, VPAA, informed the group of the accreditation updates and schedule and reminded everyone to start preparing and conform to the requirements of the programs to be accredited.
The last speaker was Ms. Bernarda B. Palarca from the Department of Education. She re-oriented the faculty on teaching strategies and shared some tips in improving the teaching-learning situation.
The distribution of faculty workloads followed and the activity was concluded.
